Business continuity

Incident response and business continuity

Illustration of a bridge spanning a gap with an unbroken line and a cyclical process loop, representing business continuity

When a disruption occurs you need procedures to contain and respond to it. But what comes afterwards has to be thought through and documented just as carefully.

I support organisations in developing a full business continuity management system (BCMS) aligned with ISO 22301 — and, where relevant, in preparing for certification.

What a BCMS engagement includes

  • Developing a business continuity policy fit for your size and sector
  • Defining the governance of the BCMS and the roles that make it live
  • Threat and risk analysis (TRA) and business impact analysis (BIA)
  • Mitigation measures, cost/benefit analysis and continuity strategies
  • Incident response, business continuity and crisis management plans and procedures
  • Training sessions and exercises for the response teams

Built and implemented a complete BCMS for Arup's London headquarters (3,000 employees) and continuity plans for the top five jewellery collections of a confidential Swiss client.
